Flood Risk – Screenshots
This screen is used to capture and store flood risk mapping and reference imagery for the subject property. It allows you to retain visual evidence from recognised flood risk data sources to support your professional assessment.

Purpose of this screen
The purpose of the Flood Risk screen is to collect screenshots from official flood risk services, such as long-term flood risk maps and related reference data. These images provide important context regarding the potential risk of flooding in the surrounding area.
Screenshots are captured using the Surveyor Notes companion Chrome extension, which only needs to be installed once.
If you prefer not to use the extension, flood risk information can instead be manually added later in the report.

How to use this screen
-
Open the relevant flood risk information service in your browser.
-
Use the Surveyor Notes Chrome extension to capture screenshots.
-
Captured images will automatically populate the image slots on this screen.
-
You can store up to nine screenshots in the Flood Risk section.
-
Images can be removed and replaced at any time.
You may wish to capture:
-
long-term flood risk summaries,
-
surface water, river, or coastal flood maps,
-
or supporting legends and explanatory views where relevant.
Important notes
-
This is an evidence capture screen only.
-
No written commentary is added at this stage.
-
All saved images are retained for use later in the Desktop Research workflow.
-
This screen can be used independently if you only wish to store flood risk evidence.
Adding professional interpretation later
In later stages of the Desktop Research process, you will be able to review the saved flood risk screenshots and add your professional interpretation.
When a comment is added:
-
your interpretation will be included in the final report,
-
only sections where commentary has been saved will appear in the report,
-
professional judgement and responsibility remain with the surveyor.
This staged workflow separates data collection from professional analysis, supporting clarity, consistency, and defensible reporting.
