Radon – Screenshots
This screen is used to capture and store radon-related mapping and reference imagery for the subject property. It allows you to retain visual evidence from recognised radon data sources to support your professional assessment.
Purpose of this screen
The purpose of the Radon screen is to collect screenshots from external radon information providers, such as radon risk mapping and reference data. These images provide context regarding the likelihood of radon presence and form supporting evidence for your report.
Screenshots are captured using the Surveyor Notes companion Chrome extension, which only needs to be installed once.
If you prefer not to use the extension, information can instead be manually added later in the report.
How to use this screen
-
Open the relevant radon information source in your browser.
-
Use the Surveyor Notes Chrome extension to capture screenshots.
-
Captured images will automatically populate the image slots on this screen.
-
You can store up to nine screenshots in the Radon section.
-
Images can be removed and replaced at any time.
You may wish to capture:
-
regional radon probability maps,
-
property-level search results,
-
or supporting explanatory legends where relevant.
Important notes
-
This is an evidence capture screen only.
-
No written commentary is added at this stage.
-
All saved images are retained for use later in the Desktop Research workflow.
-
This screen can be used on its own if you only wish to retain supporting evidence.
Adding professional interpretation later
In later stages of the Desktop Research process, you will be able to review the saved radon screenshots and add your professional interpretation.
When a comment is added:
-
your interpretation will be included in the final report,
-
only sections where commentary has been saved will appear in the report,
-
professional judgement remains the responsibility of the surveyor.
This staged approach helps separate data capture from professional analysis, supporting clarity and defensibility.
Copyright and licensing
Please ensure you comply with all terms, conditions, licensing, and copyright requirements of the source websites used. Surveyor Notes stores screenshots as supporting evidence and does not replace original data sources.
